A person accused of committing a string of armed robberies on the North Aspect over two days whereas on digital monitoring for a pending gun case has been sentenced to twenty years in jail.
In every case, victims advised police a person pulled up in a dark-colored SUV and robbed them at gunpoint on the road.
Between 11:23 p.m. and 11:55 p.m. on August 28, 2023, Safaeldin Daheya allegedly robbed a 23-year-old man within the 6200 block of North Talman, a 19-year-old man within the 6300 block of North Rockwell, and a 44-year-old man within the 6300 block of North California, in line with a CPD press launch.
The following day, he’s accused of robbing a 37-year-old man within the 6300 block of North Campbell at 12:05 a.m. and a 23-year-old man within the 6400 block of North Washtenaw at 11:09 p.m.
State troopers noticed a stolen SUV that police linked to the robberies after the ultimate holdup and chased it. They caught Daheya within the 3900 block of North Neva about half-hour later.
