The Phillies were atop the oddsboard to start Tuesday — the first day of the MLB postseason — but after a dominant wild-card win for the Dodgers over the Reds, they reclaimed the top spot.
L.A. led Cincinnati 10-2 before emerging with a 10-5 victory. Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani led the way with two home runs.
Second and third on the board are Philadelphia and Seattle, respectively.
Making a precipitous drop after Day 1 of the wild-card action were the defending AL champion Yankees, who fell 3-1 at home to the rival Boston Red Sox.
With the loss, New York moved from +800 to +1500 to win the World Series.
The last time a team won consecutive World Series, the Yankees won three in a row from 1998 to 2000. Prior to that, the Blue Jays repeated in 1993 after winning it all in 1992.
