There’s been a scarcity of officers for highschool sports activities lately. Daniel Ashikian, 21, and Casey Pope, 18, have answered the decision.

They’re of their second season of officiating basketball video games within the San Fernando Valley unit.

“It’s higher than working at McDonald’s,” Pope stated.

Pope performed basketball at Monroe Excessive and instantly needed to grow to be an official. Ashikian has performed basketball for years on his personal and needed to remain concerned within the sport. They labored a junior varsity women’ sport at Granada Hills this week.
