A 30-year-old man with a rising younger household was shot and killed whereas sitting in his car in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood Friday night. Police supplied no motive for the slaying.
The sufferer was sitting in his 2020 Nissan Murano within the 3500 block of West Wabansia Avenue when a gunman walked up and commenced capturing round 8:54 p.m., Chicago police mentioned.
The person suffered a single gunshot wound to the top and was pronounced lifeless at Mt. Sinai Hospital, in response to CPD. Officers haven’t publicly recognized the sufferer, however family and friends have recognized him in social media posts as Andrew Garay.
In a GoFundMe launched Saturday afternoon, Samanth Knutt remembered Garay as “a kind-hearted man. He beloved everybody. He was the form of man to provide the shirt off his again even when it was the very last thing he had. He had a character that lit up any room he walked into. He was a hardworking and devoted father.”
A witness informed police the gunman, described solely as a person sporting a purple hoodie, fled the scene on foot via a gangway close to the capturing scene.
