The hit unscripted comedy series ‘Jury Duty’ is making its highly anticipated return with an entirely new setting and premise. Moving away from the courtroom, the second season will transport viewers to a corporate retreat where an unsuspecting temp worker named Anthony becomes the center of an elaborately orchestrated scenario.
New Setting, New Story
Officially titled ‘Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat,’ the new season follows Anthony, a temporary employee who believes he’s attending a legitimate corporate offsite event at a family-owned hot sauce company. Like the first season’s format, Anthony is the only real person among a cast of actors playing various roles in this meticulously crafted situation.
Release Schedule
The new season will debut on March 20 with three episodes, followed by two more episodes on March 27, and concluding with a three-episode finale on April 3.
Plot Details
The story revolves around a power struggle within the fictional company, as the founder prepares to step down. Viewers will witness a clash between corporate ambitions and small business values, with the company’s future hanging in the balance. In a brief preview, Anthony can be heard remarking that the events are so unbelievable, his parents wouldn’t believe them if he told them.
Building on Previous Success
The new season follows the remarkable success of the original series, which earned critical acclaim and two Emmy nominations. The show’s unique premise and genuine reactions from its unsuspecting protagonist helped create compelling television that resonated with audiences worldwide.
Created by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, the series continues its innovative approach to reality-based entertainment, blending scripted elements with authentic human reactions in a controlled environment.
