Charli XCX expresses openness to contributing a theme song for the James Bond franchise, though she doubts her heavy use of auto-tune makes her a suitable choice.
Charli’s Take on a Potential Bond Collaboration
The 33-year-old Grammy-winning electropop artist shared her thoughts during an appearance on The Julia Cunningham Show. She stated, ‘I got to say, I don’t think that I am built for that. I think I probably sing with too much Auto-Tune to do a James Bond. Never say never. I’m open to it if they want to call me, which they won’t but, yeah. I think it might not be a fit, but that’s, well, yeah. It’s not going to happen now, is it? So amazing. I don’t know.’
Her candid remarks highlight a mix of enthusiasm and self-deprecation regarding the iconic 007 series.
Spotlight on ‘The Moment’ Premiere
Charli’s comments come amid excitement for her upcoming film, The Moment, a tour mockumentary chronicling her career-defining BRAT era. The project, directed by Aidan Zamiri, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City over the weekend and explores the transformation of subculture through commercial success.
At the Los Angeles premiere on Thursday at the Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly Hills, Charli turned heads in a form-fitting gray corset paired with a black PVC bra and matching hot pants. She accessorized with a faux fur shawl, sheer tights, and black heels, drawing cheers from fans along the red carpet.
Kylie Jenner joined her for the event, marking her acting debut in the satirical film. Jenner showcased a toned midriff in a ruffled sleeveless blouse and a low-rise black maxi skirt.
Film Details and Trailer Highlights
The Moment follows Charli as she prepares for her first headline tour, blending personal and public narratives. Scripted scenes feature record executives debating how to extend the ‘brat summer’ phenomenon indefinitely.
The trailer, released in December, mixes concert footage with appearances by stars like Alexander Skarsgård and Rachel Sennott. In one scene, Charli questions the hype: ‘Don’t you just think the whole, like, “Keep having a Brat Summer!” thing is a bit cringe? The label is like, “More Brat, Brat, Brat, Brat, Brat, forever,” and you know, maybe they are right. Urgh for f***’s sake.’
She adds her frustration with fame: ‘Everyone’s so desperate for me to be f***ing innovative all the time. And f***ing cool!’ Jenner responds in the clip: ‘The second people are getting sick of you, that’s when you need to go even harder.’
The film enters limited release now, with a nationwide rollout scheduled for February 6. Select U.S. theaters begin screenings on January 30. The LA event attracted top names from music and film, underscoring Charli’s rising influence.
