Intensified Search for Missing Chef in Cornwall
Authorities intensify their efforts to locate Alexander Key, the 37-year-old partner of Sir Mick Jagger’s granddaughter, Assisi Jackson. Detectives release images of two dog walkers spotted near Key’s last known location, hoping they can provide crucial details about his whereabouts.
Key, a chef and father of two, vanished from the coastal village of Boscastle in Cornwall last Friday. He shares children Ezra, 11, and Romy, 6, with Jackson, 33. The couple resides in Cornwall, where Key co-owns The Rocket Store, a seafood restaurant renowned for fresh local ingredients, including fish from his father’s catches and meat from the family farm.
Last Known Sightings and CCTV Footage
Key was last seen inside the Cobweb Inn in Boscastle around 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Surveillance footage captures him sitting alone, dressed in a black hooded top layered under a red stripy jumper. About an hour later, he appears walking outside the pub.
On Saturday at 3:25 p.m., additional CCTV shows Key passing the Wellington Pub on Old Road, heading toward Boscastle Harbour and the River Valency. He wears the same red shirt, now topped with a blue anorak or waterproof jacket and black trainers.
Shortly after, cameras record a couple walking dogs in the opposite direction. Officers urge the pair to come forward, as they may have crossed paths with Key during his walk.
The search unfolds amid challenging conditions, following Storm Ingrid on Friday and Saturday, and Storm Chandra earlier that week. Treacherous weather has complicated operations in the area’s dramatic cliffs and harbor.
Family Background and Public Appeal
Key’s disappearance was reported to Devon and Cornwall Police on Saturday evening, prompting an urgent response due to growing concerns for his safety. Jackson’s mother, jewelry designer Jade Jagger, 54, shared police images of Key on social media to broaden the appeal. The photos depict him in a striking orange patterned jacket.
Police describe Key as 5 feet 8 inches tall, of medium build, with distinctive bright peroxide blonde hair. He typically favors vibrant clothing. Jackson, the eldest grandchild of Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger, 82, is the daughter of Jade and artist Piers Jackson.
The family owns the restaurant, which features artwork by Jackson’s father, including a prominent star constellation painting. Notably, Jade became a grandmother and mother around the same time in 2014, with Ezra’s birth closely followed by her son Ray Emmanuel Fillary.

Investigators stress the picturesque yet hazardous nature of Boscastle, especially in winter, with its cliff-top paths and harbor drawing visitors but posing risks. Anyone who has seen Key or knows his location should call 999 immediately, quoting log number 847 of January 24, 2026.
The Rocket Store’s staff, including head chef Freddie Woodruff, echo the family’s worry and encourage tips to aid the search.
