A 21-year-old drill rapper known as DSAVV, whose real name is Daniel Boakye, has fled police custody twice in one week and released a provocative music video mocking authorities.
Second Escape from Hospital
Boakye escaped from University Hospital Lewisham around 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 15. Officers pursued him but could not detain him before he fled the building. He had been in custody for medical treatment at the time.
Just days earlier, authorities detained Boakye after a prior abscondment. He was last seen wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark Nike jacket. Authorities describe him as a Black man of medium height and slim build.
Provocative Music Video Surfaces
A video posted on social media shows a young man, believed to be Boakye, rapping about his escape. An article about the incident plays on a TV in the background. He boasts, “I just broke out of jail like Modie, f*** the government fam they’re phoneys.”
The lyrics continue: “Prison break, s*** fam – f*** these police. On the roads, I’m a legend like Toby, but I can’t go wrong like Kobe.”
Criminal Background
Court records indicate Boakye received a prison sentence in July 2023 for multiple knifepoint robberies across London. Victims faced threats to surrender their phones and passcodes, allowing thieves to drain their accounts.
Police Response
A politan Police spokesperson confirmed: “We are searching for a 21-year-old man who absconded from Lewisham Hospital at around 15:05hrs on Sunday, February 15. Daniel Boakye was in police custody at the hospital receiving medical treatment when he fled. Officers gave chase but could not detain him before he left the building. We are currently reviewing this incident to fully understand the events which unfolded. The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards is aware.”
