A three-year-old boy from Woolwich has died weeks after hospital admission for serious injuries, prompting murder charges against two individuals.
Tragic Death of Isiayah Henry
Isiayah Henry, aged three and from Woolwich, passed away on January 19 despite the tireless efforts of medical staff. Officers from the Metropolitan Police responded to concerns at a hospital on January 3, where the boy had arrived with severe injuries.
Initial inquiries triggered both a safeguarding review and a criminal probe by the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.
Murder Charges Announced
On February 20, following a court appearance at Woolwich Crown Court, authorities charged two people in connection with Isiayah’s death.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson stated: “Enquiries have been ongoing within the Met’s Specialist Crime Command. On Friday, 20 February, two people were charged with murder and causing/allowing the death of a child in connection with Isiayah’s death.”
The accused are Tanisha Henry, 28, of St Marys Street, Woolwich, and Mikael Williams, 30, of Beaconsfield Road, SE17. They are scheduled to appear next at Woolwich Crown Court on April 22.
Isiayah’s family has been notified and continues to receive support from specialist officers.
