Aimee Lou Wood and Mia McKenna-Bruce joined fellow stars at a glamorous Netflix after-party following the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards. The exclusive event took place at The Twenty Two in London’s Grosvenor Square, drawing celebrities fresh from the ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall.

Stars Unwind After BAFTAs

Aimee Lou Wood, who received the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2023, arrived in a stunning peach satin dress. She sipped cocktails while mingling with guests, including Heartstopper actress Bel Priestley and co-star Mia McKenna-Bruce.

The duo stars in an upcoming four-film Beatles anthology. Wood portrays Pattie Boyd, George Harrison’s model wife, while McKenna-Bruce, 28, plays Maureen Starkey, Ringo Starr’s late first wife. McKenna-Bruce raised her champagne glass high, clearly eager to dance into the night.

Other notable attendees included Riz Ahmed, Noomi Rapace, Immy Waterhouse, Iris Law, and Patrick Dempsey, who was joined by his wife Jillian and daughter Talula. Dempsey received support amid the recent passing of his Grey’s Anatomy co-star Eric Dane, confirmed by Dane’s family after his ALS diagnosis.

BAFTA 2026 Highlights

One Battle After Another dominated the 2026 British Academy Film Awards, securing six awards from a record 14 nominations. The film triumphed in Best Film, Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, Adapted Screenplay, Supporting Actor for Sean Penn, Cinematography for Michael Bauman, and Editing.

Key winners include:

  • Best Film: One Battle After Another
  • Leading Actress: Jessie Buckley (Hamnet)
  • Leading Actor: Robert Aramayo (I Swear)
  • Supporting Actress: Wunmi Mosaku (Sinners)
  • Supporting Actor: Sean Penn (One Battle After Another)
  • Original Score: Sinners (Ludwig Göransson)
  • Animated Film: Zootropolis 2
  • Director: Paul Thomas Anderson (One Battle After Another)
  • Outstanding British Film: Hamnet
  • Cinematography: Michael Bauman (One Battle After Another)

Memorable Acceptance Speeches

Producer Sarah Murphy dedicated the Best Film win, stating, “We wish more than anything that our producing partner Adam Somner could be here to accept this on his home turf.”

Paul Thomas Anderson thanked the audience, saying, “Thank you for rewarding our film in the way that you have; it’s just a tremendous honour. I’m well aware of the other films that share this. Anybody that says movies aren’t any good anymore they can piss off because this is just a great f*****g year.” He added plans to celebrate at a nearby bar.

Jessie Buckley, favored for an Oscar nod, won Leading Actress for Hamnet. In her speech, she reflected, “This is really such an incredible honour. As a little girl I never thought in a million years I would be allowed to make a film but here I am.” She thanked her agent and nominees, admitting, “Who have I left out? I am in awe of all your incredible performances thank you.”

Robert Aramayo’s Leading Actor win for I Swear stunned audiences, edging out Timothée Chalamet and Leonardo DiCaprio. His father celebrated wildly from the crowd. Aramayo said from the stage, “I absolutely can’t believe this. I can’t believe I’m looking at people like you never mind that I’m stood here.”

The ping pong drama Marty Supreme, with 11 nominations, left empty-handed, marking a major upset.
