The Prince and Princess of Wales made their third public appearance together since Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The couple presented a united front during engagements in Powys, east Wales, ahead of St David’s Day celebrations marking the Welsh national holiday.
This outing follows Princess Kate’s attendance at the Six Nations England versus Ireland match on Saturday, a joint red carpet appearance at the 2026 BAFTAs on Sunday, and Prince William’s solo engagement in London on Wednesday. The arrest news emerged last Thursday, with Andrew later released.
Focus on Community in Wales
Prince William and Princess Kate centered their visit around the theme of community. They began in Llanidloes at the Hanging Gardens community centre, where they met volunteers and joined in group activities.
Next, the royals headed to Oriel Davies, a contemporary art gallery in Newtown. The itinerary featured an exhibition created by local children and young people.
The pair also connected with individuals learning the Welsh language, a nod to Prince William’s efforts to master key phrases since taking on the Prince of Wales title in 2022.
Celebrating Volunteers
The day wrapped up at Hafan yr Afon, a cultural hub in Powys. There, William and Kate honored volunteer groups and community champions from the region.
New photos capture the couple’s active involvement throughout the action-packed schedule.
