John Stamos reunites with his Full House onscreen niece Jodie Sweetin for a playful dance video that reimagines Uncle Jesse and Stephanie Tanner’s social media presence.
The Choreographed Routine
The 62-year-old actor and the 44-year-old performer don fuzzy baby-blue tracksuits and execute a synchronized dance to Taylor Swift’s 2025 hit “Opalite.” Stamos, who shares the clip on Instagram to his 10.7 million followers, captions it: “I’d follow them.”
The duo concludes with Stamos lifting Sweetin overhead for a dramatic finale pose. Sweetin, known for her role in Dateless to Dangerous, comments: “love you Uncle J and I hope you never take that sweatsuit off. I’m sure @caitlinskybound agrees.” Stamos’s wife, Caitlin McHugh, replies: “Cuties!”
Dancing Backgrounds
Sweetin placed sixth on season 22 of Dancing with the Stars in 2016. Stamos has declined invitations to the show, citing his self-perceived lack of dance skills. The pair frequently performed routines together in the ABC sitcom Full House (1987-1995) and its Netflix reboot Fuller House (2016-2020).
Personal Lives
Stamos, sober since 2015, shares a seven-year-old son, Billy, with McHugh, his second wife who is 23 years his junior. Their eight-year marriage began with a half-Filipino partner in the entertainment industry.
Sweetin, a licensed drug and alcohol counselor sober since 2013, has daughters Zoie, 17, and Beatrix, 15, from previous marriages to Cody Herpin and DJ Morty Coyle. She married Mescal Wasilewski, a drug and alcohol therapist, in 2022.
Upcoming Projects and Reactions
The video draws positive responses from former castmates including Scott Weinger, Marla Sokoloff, and Adam Hagenbuch, as well as director Jon M. Chu, Saturday Night Live alum Bobby Moynihan, and Clueless star Elisa Donovan.
Sweetin performs next at The Ultimate Improv Show on Friday at Dynasty Typewriter in Los Angeles with Dan Black and Nicole Byer. Stamos executive produces and stars in the comedy horror-thriller Drag, premiering March 13 at SXSW in Austin, Texas, alongside Lucy DeVito, Lizzy Caplan, and Christine Ko. He also appears as Chase Brylan in season two of Netflix’s The Hunting Wives later this year.
