Kim Kardashian and her 12-year-old daughter North West exited a recording studio late Monday night in Los Angeles. The 45-year-old entrepreneur appeared makeup-free, dressed in a black trench coat, trousers, and comfortable shoes, with her hair in a messy bun and a purse slung over her arm.
North complemented the casual vibe in a black sweatshirt, matching sweatpants with silver details, a simple ponytail, and stylish shades. The mother-daughter duo climbed into a silver SUV after the session.
North West’s Growing Music Career
North recently signed with Gamma, an independent label led by former Apple executive Larry Jackson, which also features artists like Mariah Carey, Usher, Sexyy Red, and Snoop Dogg. The deal aligns with her father Kanye West, now known as Ye, who partners with Gamma for his upcoming album Bully.
Recording sessions under the new agreement have already started. North, homeschooled by her parents, shares siblings Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 6, with ex-husband West.
Recent Tracks and Live Shows
North released her latest single, Piercing on My Hand, in early February via Gamma. Produced by Ye and Will Frenchman, the track addresses criticism of her piercings.
In January, she joined West onstage in Mexico City for a duet of his 2014 hit Only One amid stage fog, thrilling the sold-out crowd. They also performed Piercing on My Hand, alongside West’s classics like Heartless, Mercy, and Can’t Tell Me Nothing.
North previously rapped fluently in Japanese on FKA Twigs’ 2025 album EUSEXUA track Childlike Things, earning mixed fan reactions. She also sang in Japanese on West’s Vultures 2 the year before.
Future Plans and Ventures
North announced her debut album, Elementary School Dropout—a nod to West’s 2004 release The College Dropout—at a Vultures 2 listening party in Arizona. “Hi, it’s Northie, and I’ve been working on an album. And it’s called Elementary School Dropout,” she told the cheering audience, with West nearby.
In 2024, she debuted as Young Simba at The Lion King‘s 30th anniversary concert at the Hollywood Bowl, performing I Just Can’t Wait to Be King in costume.
Kardashian supports North’s expansion, filing trademarks for NOR11 through KimYe’s Kid Inc. The brand covers clothing, accessories, jewelry, and bags. North has worn NOR11-logoed hats, hinting at her father’s influence in her creative pursuits.
