Film enthusiasts often seek gripping recommendations on streaming platforms like Netflix and Disney Plus. Yet, a recent online discussion shifted focus to cinema’s biggest disappointments, spotlighting movies with no redeeming qualities.

United Passions Tops List of All-Time Worst Films

A popular thread asked users to name films deserving a 0/10 rating. The standout response pointed to United Passions (2015), which holds a 0% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Viewers slammed it as a FIFA propaganda film portraying the organization’s executives as misunderstood heroes. Funded largely by FIFA, the drama runs 1 hour and 50 minutes and chronicles the governing body’s origins.

Plot and Key Figures

The story traces FIFA’s development, highlighting ambitions, challenges, and controversies involving founders and presidents like Jules Rimet, João Havelange, and Sepp Blatter. It covers efforts to globalize football and launch World Cup tournaments amid political and ethical issues.

Financial Flop Amid Scandal

Released in 2015 during FIFA’s major corruption revelations, the film earned just $900 on its U.S. opening weekend. Its total box office reached $168,132 against a $32 million budget.

Stars and the director later distanced themselves. Tim Roth admitted he never watched it and participated only for the paycheck.

Harsh Criticisms from Viewers

Audience reactions labeled it “unfathomably ghastly,” the “most cringeworthy film in history,” “unwatchable,” and a “waste of two hours” not worth even one star.

Other notorious flops mentioned include the 2019 Cats, the 2005 War of the Worlds remake, and The Emoji Movie.
