Jaime Alcaraz, the 14-year-old brother of world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, claimed the Under-15 title at the Murcia Challenger with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 victory over Rodrigo Burgos in the final.

Alcaraz Family Dominates Tennis Scene

The Alcaraz family enjoys a remarkable year in tennis. Carlos kicked off the season with a 16-match winning streak, securing a career Grand Slam at the Australian Open and triumphing at the Qatar Open. His older brother, Alvaro, captured the Nothing Major Podcast’s ‘Hottie Coach Bracket’ through a public vote, defeating Marat Safin in the final.

Jaime emerges as the latest family star. This promising junior has competed in the elite Les Petits As tournament and won a Rafa Nadal Tour event at age 11. While he has not yet entered the professional circuit, expectations run high given his brother’s seven Grand Slam titles.

Carlos Urges Fans to Ease Pressure on Jaime

Carlos Alcaraz emphasizes letting Jaime forge his own path without comparisons. During the 2024 Six Kings Slam, he stated, “He plays well, I’m not gonna lie. He’s getting to a really good level. But honestly, there are a lot of people around, a lot of videos and accounts from social media that are saying that he’s going to be similar to his brother. And I don’t really like that.”

Alcaraz ed concern over external hype: “I just want all the people or all the social media to just leave him alone because he plays well, but it’s not the best. So, for me, I’m a little bit worried for the people who are around him during the tournament that they’re gonna go to watch him because he’s my brother, and then he’ll probably put pressure on himself.”

He added supportively, “Let’s see how he’s gonna handle it. I’ll be there for him for sure. He loves tennis and every time he can, he asks my father to go to the court and hit some balls. For me that’s great, that he loves playing tennis and let’s see if he’s gonna get better and better and hopefully one year I’ll play against him.”

At last year’s Australian Open, Carlos reinforced his stance: “I’m just trying to support him, being supportive for him, trying to [take away] all the pressure that people put on him. I’m just happy to see him growing and becoming, let’s say, a grown man.”

Family Reunion Looms After Miami Exit

Carlos plans to return home soon after his third-round defeat to Sebastian Korda at the Miami Open. He shared, “Probably I’m going to go back home, which I’m just looking forward to, stay chilling with my family, with my friends.” This timing allows him to personally celebrate Jaime’s latest achievement.
