Jenna Bush Hager experienced a hilarious wardrobe malfunction during a trip to Jamaica, where her co-host Sheinelle Jones proved her loyalty by rushing to help. The duo, filming episodes of their show on location in the Caribbean nation, shared the story on air, highlighting how one evening ended dramatically.
The Scissors Rescue on the Dance Floor
Sheinelle Jones teased Jenna about the incident, saying, “I had to cut her out of her dress.” At the time, Sheinelle enjoyed the dance floor, possibly to Sean Paul’s music, but left immediately when Jenna called for help.
“She had to literally get scissors and cut me out of my dress,” Jenna recalled. “I was pouring sweat, I was panicking. I’m like, SOS. Sheinelle, I need you to get here with the scissors ASAP.” Jenna praised Sheinelle’s quick action, noting it revealed the depth of their friendship.
Previous Wardrobe Mishaps
This is not the first time either host has faced such a fashion emergency. In 2022, during her book tour for The Superpower Sisterhood, Jenna’s zipper broke at a Texas rest stop. A helpful woman used pliers from her car to assist. “Sisterhood looks like a lot of different things,” Jenna reflected. “But one thing you may not notice about sisterhood is that sometimes, they can help you out even in the biggest pinches.”
Sheinelle once split her pants live on the show. The wardrobe team, led by Alex, sewed her back into them during a commercial break. “So this is Alex in our wardrobe department, she just worked a miracle, she sewed me into my pants!” Sheinelle joked. “I’d show you, but then we’d get canceled.” She added, “I can’t use the restroom for the rest of the hour – I’m sewn in.”
Jamaica Trip Focuses on Resilience
The hosts traveled to Jamaica to raise awareness following Hurricane Melissa’s impact in October 2025. Amid the stunning Caribbean scenery, they also expressed support for colleague Savannah Guthrie, whose mother, Nancy Guthrie, 84, disappeared from her Tucson, Arizona home on February 1. Authorities suspect abduction.
“We’re gonna have a beautiful show. But before we get started here in Jamaica, we have to just say, we are here by the Caribbean Sea, the wind in our hair, but our hearts are also with our dearest friend, Savannah,” Jenna stated. “When you love somebody the way we love our girl, you can’t help but feel like she’s with us.”
She continued, “I will say, it’s hard to come to a place like this and not feel close to God, and she talked a lot about her faith…it’s important that we’re here, because if anyone knows the type of resilience that Savannah’s fighting for every day, it is the people of Jamaica. They fight for their joy.”
