King Charles III and Queen Camilla marked their 21st wedding anniversary with a rare public display of affection captured in a video shared on Thursday.
The Tender Moment at Highgrove Shop Opening
During a joint visit to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show on May 19, 2025, the royal couple attended the grand opening of the Highgrove Shop. The store features luxury products inspired by the gardens at their Gloucestershire residence and supports The King’s Foundation charitable initiatives.
Inside the newly unveiled shop, amid displays of flowers and upscale homewares, Queen Camilla gently placed her hand on King Charles’s arm and back in a touching gesture recorded on camera. The couple later joined onlookers outside for the official reveal as curtains drew back.
The Highgrove Gardens social media account shared a video montage of the moment, set to Sly & The Family Stone’s 1974 track ‘This is Love.’ The caption read: “Happy 21st wedding anniversary to Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.”
Their Elegant Attire
Queen Camilla complemented the occasion with a patterned midi dress and wedge heels. King Charles appeared sharp in a suit, navigating the store with his ornate walking stick.
Highgrove House Legacy
King Charles has resided at Highgrove House since purchasing it in 1980. Surrounded by public-access gardens, it serves as the primary family home shared with Queen Camilla since their 2005 marriage.
Subtle Royal PDA Over the Years
Like other royals, King Charles and Queen Camilla maintain minimal public affection in line with monarchy etiquette, avoiding hand-holding during official duties. Yet, they have shared discreet moments, including a kiss at a 2005 polo match, Charles assisting Camilla off a ship during their 2023 France state visit, and a reunion kiss in Singapore in 2017 before an 11-day Southeast Asia and India tour.
Two Decades of Marriage
The couple wed on April 9, 2005, following their February engagement announcement and a rekindled romance from 1986. Their civil ceremony was followed by a religious blessing.
Through 21 years, they have navigated challenges like the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles’s cancer diagnosis announced in February 2024, with Camilla providing steadfast support.
In his inaugural speech as monarch in September 2022, King Charles stated: “I count on the loving help of my darling wife, Camilla.”
