A prominent celebrity stylist faces widespread backlash after voicing frustration over a non-lie-flat seat on a Delta Airlines flight from New York to Los Angeles, despite paying for a premium Delta One upgrade.
The Complaint
Law Roach, known for styling stars like Zendaya and Ariana Grande, shared his disappointment on X. “Dear @Delta I’m Delta #60 and a Million Miler. This morning I paid for a Delta One seat from NYC to LA and when I got on the plane it was not a lay flat seat. I was very disappointed,” the 47-year-old stylist posted on Monday night.
Delta One provides a premium experience with spacious lie-flat seats on international flights and select long-haul domestic routes. However, the airline notes that seat configurations can vary by aircraft type and size.

Roach’s post quickly went viral, sparking a mix of criticism and some sympathy. Many users called him tone-deaf amid economic struggles. One responder wrote: “How fricken horrible oh my god!!!!! Some acknowledged the frustration but questioned the public complaint. “I totally get that people should receive the product or service they pay for, but bro… my man, there’s a time and place for complaining about lie flat vs standard recliner. Delta’s Explanation
A Delta spokesperson explained that a last-minute aircraft change ensured an on-time departure but resulted in the flight operating without Delta One seating. “We apologize to Mr. Roach for his experience… and our Customer Care team has reached out and is working directly with him to address the situation,” the spokesperson said.
