Files for the upcoming Forza Horizon 6 racing game from Playground Games and Microsoft have surfaced prematurely on Steam, well before the official May 19 launch.
Unexpected Early Access
Keen observers spotted the unencrypted files on the game’s Steam page, with records still available on SteamDB. Developers often upload game files ahead of release for preparation, but lacking encryption exposed them to early downloads. Playground Games swiftly removed the files, yet a short window allowed some users to grab them, leading to cracked versions spreading online.
Pirates who accessed the game early now face severe consequences. A circulating screenshot highlights content creator DVS Squad, who shared gameplay footage without hiding his account details. The image captures an in-game message from the Forza Community team imposing a ban lasting 69,895,509 hours—extending until December 31, 9999.
Verification on DVS Squad’s Discord server confirms the screenshot’s authenticity.
Microsoft’s Firm Anti-Piracy Policy
Microsoft maintains a strict approach to piracy. Back in 2009, it issued widespread bans for console modifications enabling unauthorized game access. More recently, leakers of the Gears of War Remake faced permanent exclusions from Xbox One online services.
Recent Game Details
Playground Games recently detailed Forza Horizon 6’s expansive map, diverse vehicle lineup, and innovative racing mechanics set in Japan, building excitement for the release.
