Devastating Inferno Engulfs New Delhi Hotel, Claiming Multiple Lives
At least 21 individuals have perished, with numerous others sustaining injuries, following a catastrophic fire that ravaged a hotel in New Delhi on Wednesday. The blaze erupted in the Malviya Nagar neighborhood of the Indian capital.
Reports indicate that some of the victims were foreign nationals who were in India seeking medical treatment. Firefighting teams successfully evacuated 37 individuals from the engulfed structure, according to fire official Abhilash Malik. The fire has since been extinguished, though the cause remains under investigation.
Rescue Efforts Underway Amidst Tragic Loss
Initial reports the scene confirmed the recovery of four bodies, while at least seven individuals were transported to hospitals for urgent medical attention, stated Jitendra Kumar, a senior administrative official.
Visuals from the incident depicted firefighters battling the intense flames as dense smoke poured from the hotel. Local residents also actively participated in the rescue operations, assisting in the evacuation of trapped occupants and aiding the injured to safety.
