Khloe Kardashian Opens Up About Cosmetic Procedures and Self-Acceptance
Reality television personality Khloe Kardashian is offering a more candid perspective on the cosmetic work she has undergone throughout her career. In a recent interview, the 41-year-old discussed the procedures she has opted for and those she considers indispensable.
Kardashian recounted an instance from a year ago when she addressed speculation about her appearance. “This gentleman was [on the Internet] dictating all these things that I did. And if I did, I would totally say that. I don’t have a problem with it,” she stated. She also emphasized the ongoing effort involved in maintaining her look, noting, “But I also want people to know, not that anyone thinks this is all natural, but it’s not. There is maintenance involved.”
Reflecting on her public life since the age of 21, Kardashian acknowledged the impact of aging and weight loss on her appearance. “Age has something to do with it, weight loss for sure. But yes, I’ve had enhancements,” she confirmed. She specifically mentioned having had her nose done and expressed a preference for laser treatments and injectables. “Before I need to get my face surgically done, I’m going to do all the lasers and injectables or whatever that I can,” she added.
Detailed Account of Treatments
In June of last year, Kardashian provided an extensive list of her cosmetic treatments via social media. These included laser hair removal, collagen threads for the chin and neck area, and treatments for a facial tumor removal site. She also mentioned soft wave laser for skin tightening and past use of fillers, though she noted she hasn’t used them in recent years, humorously adding, “I hear it never goes away, so I’m sure it’s still there but calmed down.”
Kardashian described herself and her sister Kim as “adventurous” when it comes to exploring new aesthetic treatments. “With Kim and I specifically, we’ll go down these rabbit holes. I’ll see like it can be a stretch mark laser commercial, and when I send it to her, I’m like, ‘Do you think this is real?’ and we’re like, ‘We need that,'” she explained.
Focus on Self-Care and Mental Well-being
Beyond cosmetic procedures, Kardashian also discussed her approach to self-care, including regular massages for migraine relief, despite admitting she doesn’t always enjoy the process. “I’m always thinking, ‘I can be doing something else with my time,’ but even if I want to just die when I’m lying there, I’m learning to be better about my self-care,” she insisted.
The beauty mogul, who recently launched her third fragrance, emphasized a shift in her mindset regarding self-comparison. “We’ve lived in an era where, at least me, I’m so used to comparing myself aesthetically to others, and that gets so exhausting. So, over the past few years, I’ve tried to remove myself mentally from that type of energy, to free myself,” she shared. She recalled a time in her twenties when she felt happier despite not conforming to perceived aesthetic standards, but later found herself comparing herself to others due to constant media attention.
Kardashian also touched upon her self-esteem challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, a period marked by significant personal events, including the end of her relationship with Tristan Thompson. “I was sick of not feeling how I used to feel, but when all those things happened, I was just like, ‘You know what? None of this is mine to carry,'” she stated, adding, “I was so uncomfortable with the person that I was becoming.”
Looking towards her forties, Kardashian expressed a newfound sense of security and self-acceptance. “In my 40s, with the wisdom and the security I’ve gained, I’m like, ‘I’m fabulous if I have all this glam on or if I don’t,'” she concluded.
