Insiders indicate that radio host Carrie Bickmore, 45, could soon return to television screens following the recent merger between Southern Cross Media (SCM) and Network Seven.
Merger Sparks Cross-Promotion Opportunities
The $385 million to $400 million deal, finalized last month, unites SCM’s radio assets—including Triple M, Fox, and Hit Network—with Seven West Media. Executives at both companies aim to leverage familiar talents across platforms.
Bickmore, co-host on the Hit Network with Tommy Little, tops the list of SCM personalities eyed for Seven TV appearances, alongside Fifi Box and Mick Molloy. In return, Seven stars such as Sonia Kruger and Larry Emdur, 61, explore radio opportunities.
Industry Concerns Over Merger Impacts
Discussions about the merger surfaced seriously last October, raising alarms among Channel Seven talent. “Anyone in business knows that when these mergers happen, it generally sets the scene for more shock axings,” an insider noted.
The Morning Show hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies face particular scrutiny due to their high salaries. “Many believe the show needs a reboot and nobody cares if jobs are lost—it’s all about the bottom line,” the source added.
Bickmore’s Recent Spotlight and Personal Life
Bickmore, who departed Channel Ten’s The Project in 2022, recently drew attention at colleague Jesse Watkins’ countryside wedding. She wore a shimmering cream two-piece set by Koster Kulture, featuring a long skirt with a thigh-high slit.
“I saw the outfit on a beautiful girl on New Year’s Day and asked what it was and stole her look!” Bickmore shared with fans. She glowed alongside Tommy Little, fueling ongoing romance rumors sparked by their flirty on-air dynamic and social media interactions.
The duo recently cuddled up at a golf tournament in Adelaide, traveled to Uluru, and posed embracing at last year’s LIV Golf event. These moments follow Bickmore’s 2023 split from longtime partner Chris Walker.
