Chicago Cubs pitching prospect Brandon Birdsell can have season-ending surgical procedure on his proper elbow.
Assistant common supervisor Jared Banner confirmed the information Tuesday. Birdsell will endure the process with Dr. Keith Meister in Arlington, Texas.
