Elianna Arvizu eases into her mornings with gentle movement, often starting with a walk alongside her dog. This ritual helps her transition smoothly into the day and establishes a positive rhythm for what lies ahead.
Building Endurance for Her First Half Marathon
Arvizu currently prepares for her debut half marathon. She discovered her passion for running after accompanying her boyfriend during his training for the 13.1-mile challenge. “I attempted a half marathon once before and couldn’t complete it,” Arvizu explains. “Training alongside my partner kept me committed.”
She schedules her race preparation runs on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. “Running presents a significant mental hurdle,” she notes. “The initial step proves the toughest, but once I begin, everything aligns seamlessly.”
Focus on Flow and Connection in Every Run
For Arvizu, running prioritizes connection to her body’s movements over sheer speed. “The Brooks Glycerin Flex feels like a natural extension of my body—each stride connects effortlessly,” she says. “Its cushioning and flexibility strike an ideal balance: plush support where needed and responsive energy during push-off. When the shoe syncs with my motion, the entire run flows smoothly.”
Her approach to movement varies daily—some sessions emphasize slowness, others strength—yet she consistently taps into her personal rhythm. “I never carve out specific time for exercise; it’s woven into my daily routine, work, and overall lifestyle,” Arvizu shares. “It shapes my mindset, flowing organically throughout the day.”
