Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice confront fresh challenges as they navigate the impact of recent disclosures from the Jeffrey Epstein files concerning their father, Prince Andrew, and mother, Sarah Ferguson. Sources describe the sisters as emotionally drained amid the ongoing scandal that has lingered since late 2025.

Latest Disclosures Intensify Family Burden

The U.S. Department of Justice released over three million additional files related to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Friday night. These documents include disturbing photographs showing a man identified as Andrew, aged 65, positioned on all fours over a woman lying on the floor, with his hand on her stomach in one image. The location and full context of these photos remain unclear.

Emails within the files reveal Andrew invited Epstein to dinner at Buckingham Palace shortly after the financier’s house arrest concluded following his conviction for soliciting a minor. In one exchange, Andrew asked Epstein, ‘Good to be free?’ and promised ‘lots of privacy.’ Earlier correspondence shows Epstein offering to arrange a meeting with a 26-year-old Russian woman described as ‘clever, beautiful and trustworthy,’ to which Andrew replied he would be ‘delighted to see her.’

Sarah Ferguson, 66, also features prominently. One email from August 2009 thanks Epstein for being ‘the brother I have always wished for’ while seeking assistance for her business debts. Another message calls him ‘my dear spectacular and special friend’ and ‘a legend.’

Sisters’ Conflicted Loyalties and Limited Contact

Eugenie, 35, and Beatrice, 37, have significantly reduced public interactions with their parents since the initial Epstein file releases. Eugenie, who founded The Anti-Slavery Collective to combat sex trafficking, views Andrew’s lack of apology to Epstein’s victims critically. Sources indicate she has no intention of severing ties completely, though contact remains limited.

A friend of Eugenie’s stated: ‘Andrew’s main concern is that his daughters are not tainted by his difficulties, so he is keeping his distance from them. Bea and Eug feel very sorry for their parents. They are keeping in touch with them and making sure they’re OK. Both Andrew and Sarah want their daughters to remain part of the Royal Family and were happy for them to spend Christmas in Norfolk.’

Beatrice has adopted a more measured stance, recently inviting Andrew to the christening of her 11-month-old daughter Athena in London, which Eugenie also attended. Earlier this week, Beatrice visited Andrew in Windsor, joining him on a horse ride with her four-year-old daughter Sienna. Photographs capture Andrew riding ahead, appearing downcast, while Beatrice walked alongside.

Royal expert Jennie Bond, speaking on Sky News, highlighted the sisters’ internal conflict: ‘Their daughters, I think, are hugely conflicted. Reports suggest that Eugenie, particularly, who is a champion of the anti-slavery campaign, she’s finding things very, very difficult. Beatrice has been seen out riding with her father recently, so very difficult for both daughters. They must feel very conflicted in their loyalties. Trying times for the family.’

Housing Crisis and Royal Ostracism

Andrew and Ferguson face eviction from Royal Lodge, their 30-room Windsor residence, due to their Epstein connections. Removal vans have been spotted at the property, with Andrew set to relocate to the smaller Marsh Farm in Norfolk. Ferguson grapples with a housing crisis, preferring to stay near Windsor, though sources confirm she will not join Andrew at Sandringham.

A source close to Ferguson noted: ‘Relations are warmer between Ferguson and the couple’s daughters, but no offer of permanent accommodation has been extended to their mother. For now, Andrew and Sarah have a housing crisis. It may mean that they have to lower their expectations about the sort of lifestyle they wish to lead.’

Beatrice resides in the Cotswolds, while Eugenie divides her time between Kensington Palace and a villa in Portugal. The sisters have offered temporary stays but no long-term housing solution for their mother.

The King removed Andrew and Ferguson’s titles in October 2025 but preserved those of their daughters, allowing them to remain in the royal fold. Senior royals, including the King, Queen, and Prince William, have largely distanced themselves. Eugenie and Beatrice, along with Princess Anne and Prince Edward, express concerns over their parents’ mental health and maintain private contact.

Earlier Epstein file releases included images of Ferguson with a young woman and Andrew reclining across a row of women at a black-tie event with Ghislaine Maxwell, as well as romantic emails between Andrew and Maxwell.
