Police are investigating an uncommon scene in Uptown after firefighters responding to a report of a pure fuel scent discovered a person shot inside his house late Thursday.
Firefighters had been dispatched round 10:45 p.m. to a constructing within the 4700 block of North Malden Avenue after a resident reported smelling fuel within the constructing. Once they entered a third-floor unit, they discovered a 34-year-old man unresponsive in his bed room with a gunshot wound to the pinnacle.
In keeping with an officer on the scene, there had been a small fireplace within the house, and the person was found wrapped in a sheet with a handgun close by.
