Visitors can now experience the newly opened Spa at the Edinburgh Grand, a five-star Luxury Collection hotel in St Andrew Square. Located in the former vaults of the Royal Bank of Scotland, this dry spa emphasizes precision-led facials and advanced body rituals without water-based facilities. It marks Scotland’s first partnership with Spanish skincare brand Skeyndor, renowned for results-driven treatments.
Elegant Design and Facilities
Accessed via the lobby lift to the basement level, the spa features the original bank safe door, visible from the adjacent Lady Libertine bar. A corridor leads past a new fitness center with a gym and yoga studio, opening into a sophisticated reception area. Blush-colored curtains line the walls, complemented by thick graphic-print carpets, a coral velvety sofa, and a striking display of magnolia branches, protea, and white hydrangeas.
Three treatment rooms and two changing areas provide privacy, with fluffy grey gowns available. Guests relax under plush duvets on exceptionally comfortable beds.
Treatment Highlights
The menu offers 16 treatments, including the exclusive Timeless Prodigy Facial (£295 for 100 minutes) infused with Champagne and white truffle. Body options address travel needs: The Grand Arrival (£275 for 90 minutes) uses lymphatic massage to combat fatigue, while The Grand Departure (£275 for 90 minutes) focuses on stretching.
Power Up Vitamin C Facial Experience
Spa manager Catriona Ross, with expertise from luxury resorts abroad, administers the Power Up Vitamin C Facial (£210 for 60 minutes). The session begins with double cleansing using a balmy cleanser and frothy brush-applied potion, followed by hot towels. A heavenly neck and shoulder massage releases tension, improves circulation, and firms the jawline.
Glass wands cool the skin before a mask application, paired with a hand and arm massage (options include foot or scalp). Lightly scented lotions finish the treatment, leaving skin plump and radiant. Post-treatment, guests enjoy blackcurrant and hibiscus Jing tea in the reception.
The Edinburgh Grand, transformed by Marriott International into Scotland’s first Luxury Collection property, boasts stunning features like the expansive Director’s Suite and penthouse views surpassing those of the W Hotel. The spa welcomes residents and non-residents alike at 42 St Andrew Square, Edinburgh. Visit spaattheedinburghgrand.com for bookings.
