Sources indicate United’s technical leadership intervened hours before the transfer deadline, ordering Malacia back to Carrington training ground. The sudden reversal reportedly frustrated the 26-year-old defender, who had sought more playing time through the move.
Malacia has made just three competitive appearances this season, with his sole Premier League involvement being a two-minute substitute appearance against Newcastle United. The defender spent last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven after struggling with injuries during his United tenure.
