Mel B has firmly dismissed speculation about a Spice Girls reunion to mark the group’s 30th anniversary. At a launch event for her new role as global ambassador for Revive Collagen, the 50-year-old singer clarified that no plans exist for a comeback.
Reunion Speculation Shut Down
“I’m always the one saying there’s gonna be a reunion. I’m always going, ‘Yes, it will happen! I’m gonna will it to happen!’ But nothing’s happening,” Mel B stated. She expressed reluctance about performing as a trio, similar to the Pussycat Dolls’ recent shows. “I don’t know about that. I mean, there’s five Spice Girls. You know what I mean?” she added. “I would love to go on tour no matter what, but… I’m gonna go and see the Pussycat Dolls. I love them!”
Mel C recently echoed these sentiments, stressing no concrete plans for the milestone despite ongoing communication among members. “We are communicating all the time. We want to do something. Who knows when, but I still feel very optimistic and I keep my fingers crossed that you will see the Spice Girls together at some point in the future,” she told Australia’s The Smallzy Show.
Rumors intensified after reports of a canceled Netflix project tied to the anniversary, with indications that Geri Halliwell hesitated to commit.
Menopause Advocacy and New Partnership
Mel B promotes Revive Collagen’s menopause range, drawing from her personal struggles. “Women are gonna go through menopause no matter what. It can start in their thirties. They can still be going through it when they’re 60. So I’m 50, and when I turned 50, I started getting all these hot sweats, my hair started thinning. I got anxiety,” she shared.
She linked her symptoms to past trauma from a decade-long abusive marriage, highlighting broader issues. “Women are committing suicide. Women are divorcing their husbands. Women feel like they’re losing their minds. They’re being put on antidepressants. They’re being put on anti-anxiety medication when it’s just menopause,” Mel B explained. “It starts to drive you mad so I can understand why some women don’t wanna really talk about it because it’s embarrassing, but every woman’s going through it, or they’re gonna be going through it, and I’m all about empowering women from being in the Spice Girls.”
After testing the product for two months, she reports relief from symptoms. The event occurred at Soho House Holloway in West Hollywood, where she dazzled in a sparkling silver miniskirt and matching crop top.
Star-Studded Launch and Brand Background
Celebrities including actress Gabourey Sidibe, TV host Kamie Crawford, Girlicious singer Natalie Mejia, and Olympic athlete Alysha Newman attended to support her. Revive Collagen, co-founded by Samantha Faiers and John Bailey in August 2020, leads as Europe’s fastest-growing collagen brand with ready-to-drink supplements. Faiers previously enlisted Amanda Holden and Chris Appleton as brand faces.
Mel B balances this role with her judging duties on America’s Got Talent, where she returned for season 20 and now films season 21.
