Chicago police are investigating two sexual assaults on girls inside West Ridge Nature Park this week, prompting CPD to concern a neighborhood alert and enhance safety measures within the space.

In accordance with a public security assertion from Ald. Andre Vasquez (fortieth), each instances concerned a person approaching girls, following them, and inappropriately touching them contained in the park at 5801 North Western Avenue.

Within the first incident, police stated, a 53-year-old girl was strolling within the park round 10:15 p.m. on Monday, August 4, when a person grabbed her from behind and fled on foot.

Two days later, round 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, a 33-year-old girl reported {that a} man struck her buttocks along with his hand, inflicting ache. She ran away yelling for assist, and the person started to comply with her earlier than fleeing the park.

Police describe the suspect as a heavyset man of unknown race between 20 and 45 years outdated, standing 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-11, with lengthy black hair and a black beard.
