Perry Bamonte, guitarist and keyboardist for the Remedy, has died. He was 65.
The band introduced on its web site on Dec. 26 that Bamonte died “after a brief sickness at house over Christmas.”
“Quiet, intense, intuitive fixed and massively artistic, ‘Teddy’ was a heat hearted and important a part of the Remedy story,” the band stated.
The London-born Bamonte started touring with the Remedy as a guitar tech and assistant in 1984, then joined the band full-time in 1990. He carried out over 400 exhibits with the group and recorded on the albums “Want,” “Wild Temper Swings,” “Bloodflowers,” “Acoustic Hits” and “The Remedy.”
Bamonte parted methods with the Remedy after 14 years, later performing with the group Love Amongst Smash. He returned to the Remedy in 2022 for “one other 90 exhibits, a few of the finest within the band’s historical past,” the group stated, together with the Nov. 1, 2024, London present documented on the live performance movie “The Present of a Misplaced World.”
As a member of the Remedy, Bamonte was inducted into the Rock & Roll Corridor of Fame in 2019. The band continues to be scheduled for a run of European festivals and headline exhibits in 2026.
“Our ideas and condolences are with all his household,” the group stated. “He will likely be missed.”
