Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua, 24, has entered a rehab program amid allegations of biting a woman and using an antisemitic slur during a New Year’s Eve outing in Century City’s Los Angeles area. The woman sought a temporary restraining order, which a court later denied. Nacua denies the claims and plans to pursue a defamation lawsuit.
Attorney Details Rehab Timeline and Career Plans
Nacua’s attorney, Levi McCathern, confirms that the star voluntarily entered a holistic care facility in early March—prior to the restraining order filing—to prioritize personal growth and off-season performance enhancement.
McCathern states: “Puka takes responsibility for his well-being and increasing his performance during the off-season. He is committed to using this time constructively so that he can return in the best possible position—both personally and professionally—to continue contributing to his team and the game he loves.”
The program allows Nacua to complete it well ahead of the Rams’ OTAs. McCathern adds that Nacua appreciates support from family, friends, head coach Sean McVay, and teammates, calling the lawsuit a distraction from his self-improvement efforts.
Rams Coach Expresses Confidence in Nacua
At the NFL owners’ meeting, Rams head coach Sean McVay voiced strong support for Nacua. “I trust this kid’s heart,” McVay said. “Love him, put your arm around him, want to continue to help him grow. And, really, get all the appropriate facts before I rush to judgment on that particular situation.”
McVay emphasized their close relationship: “Puka would be the first to tell you, he and I have a close relationship. We communicate clearly, openly, and honestly.”
Prior Antisemitic Controversy
This marks the second time Nacua faces antisemitic allegations. In December, he drew backlash during a livestream with streamer Adin Ross after mimicking a gesture tied to Jewish stereotypes following a touchdown. Nacua quickly apologized, stating he had no knowledge of the reference.
Known for his vibrant personality, Nacua once playfully tweeted about skydiving after actress Sydney Sweeney mentioned it as a dating preference.
