Disco by no means dies — and neither does Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s sparkle! The beloved pop princess has twirled her manner again into the UK High 5 for the primary time in over a decade along with her new LP ‘Perimenopop’. Touchdown at No. 5 on the Official Albums Chart, it’s her sixth file to crash the High 10 and a triumphant reminder that Sophie has by no means misplaced her groove!
That includes the singles ‘Freedom of the Evening’, ‘Relentless Love’, ‘Vertigo’, ‘Style’, ‘Dolce Vita’, and ‘Keep on Me’, the uplifting file presents as a celebratory soundtrack for mid-life happiness and sees Sophie return to large, daring pop — its vibrant sound, and tongue-in-cheek lyricism placing a chord with each followers and critics.
Commenting on the albums ethos and message, Sophie says: “I really discover it enjoyable getting older. There’s a lot pleasure in figuring out your self higher as you age, and that’s the place you discover my type of pop.”
Serving as her first official launch with Decca, ‘Perimenopop’ sees Sophie crew up with collaborators outdated and new, together with new musical companions like Nile Rodgers, Sigrid and MNEK and long-time studio confidantes corresponding to Biff Stannard (Kylie Minogue, Spice Ladies, JADE), Hannah Robinson (Annie, Ladyhawke) and Ed Harcourt.
