A 28-year-old New York man was arrested outdoors an outside mall in Chino Hills on allegations that he, together with a feminine accomplice, kidnapped a 51-year-old lady and drove her throughout the nation to commit fraud to repay money owed she owed, in response to authorities.
Throughout the cross-country trek, the suspect, Rahson Govantes, and an unidentified lady are accused of torturing their sufferer by burning her with cigarettes and a curling iron, in response to a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Division information launch.
Deputies found the sufferer, a resident of North Carolina, and Govantes performing suspiciously and loitering outdoors a Sephora retailer in Chino Hills on Saturday afternoon, in response to deputies.

Deputies arrested Govantes and booked him on suspicion of aggravated mayhem, torture, kidnapping and assault with a lethal weapon, the sheriff’s division stated.
