A 44-year-old man is going through a number of felony costs after Chicago police and Illinois Division of Corrections brokers allegedly discovered 4 loaded handguns, ammunition, and physique armor in his South Facet condominium.
Archie Kenerson is charged with eight counts of illegal possession of a weapon or physique armor by a felon following an IDOC “parole verify” within the 2600 block of West 72nd Road.
In accordance with a CPD report, officers and IDOC brokers went to the condominium to verify on a person, not Kenerson, who’s on parole for aggravated home battery. Kenerson allegedly informed the brokers he had two handguns inside a pair of sneakers in his bed room.
An IDOC agent went to the room and located each weapons — a loaded .380-caliber pistol and a loaded 9mm — contained in the sneakers, the report stated. The agent additionally noticed two extra firearms, a loaded .22-caliber pistol and one other loaded 9mm, in a drawer.
Authorities stated the search turned up a big blue bag containing three units of physique armor, 4 packing containers of 9mm ammunition, a field of .22 ammunition, a Glock handgun field, and suspected hashish. Kenerson allegedly informed an agent “every little thing within the room” belonged to him and that he had bought the firearms at a gun present in Indiana.
Investigators decided two of the weapons have been reported stolen, one from Gary, Indiana, and one other from a house in Morgan Park.
Choose Luciano Panici Jr. ordered Kenerson detained. He’s charged with eight counts of illegal possession of a weapon or physique armor by a felon.
