Taylor Swift simply dropped her latest album The Lifetime of a Showgirl on Friday, October 3 — and it options maybe her steamiest tune but, “Wooden.”

The brand new tune seems to be a nod to Swift’s fiancé Travis Kelce’s off-field efficiency. Want I say extra? However hilariously sufficient for Taylor’s mother, Andrea Swift, the which means appears to have flown proper over her head.

In a brand new interview on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up, the “Love Story” singer was requested what her mom considered the cheeky observe.

“I feel she thinks that tune is about superstitions — well-liked superstitions — which, which it completely is,” Taylor stated, playfully referencing the tune’s surface-level nods to knocking on wooden, seeing black cats, stepping on cracks, and hoping on falling stars.

Within the first verse, Swift sings: “Daisy’s naked bare, I used to be distraught / He loves me not / He loves me not / Penny’s unfortunate, I took him again / After which stepped on a crack / And the black cat laughed.”

Whereas the verses and refrain appear harmless sufficient, the post-chorus takes a decidedly extra suggestive flip. “Forgive me, it sounds cocky / He ah-matized me and opened my eyes / Redwood tree, it ain’t exhausting to see / His love was the important thing that opened my thighs.”

Taylor even sneaks in a wink to Kelce’s podcast along with his brother Jason Kelce, singing, “New Heights of manhood / I ain’t gotta knock on wooden.”

Apparently, Andrea Swift didn’t catch the apparent innuendos. “That’s the enjoyment of the double entendre,” Taylor instructed the SiriusXM hosts.

“You may learn that tune to individuals and it simply goes proper over their heads. You see in that tune what you wish to see.”

At one other level within the interview, the 35-year-old spoke about how she decides when to make use of curse phrases in her lyrics.

“If it’s to me improves the depth of the second or if, when it comes to syllables otherwise you simply consonance and vowels, if, if to me it pops off extra, you understand, there are specific lyrics that simply bounce extra,” she stated.

Taylor continued saying, “Or if it feels prefer it’s part of the vernacular of how that character that I’m type of cosplaying in that tune would communicate. Like, there are numerous completely different causes you select to throw in a swear phrase or like a sure phrase or a type of alliteration or no matter.”
