It’s Week 1, and the Heisman odds are already undergoing a facelift.

While Texas quarterback Arch Manning opened the season with the shortest odds to take home college football’s highest honor, four other quarterbacks have eclipsed him after a shaky start to Manning’s career as a full-time starter.

Let’s dive into the odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Aug. 31.

2025 Heisman Trophy odds

Garrett Nussmeier, LSU: +700 (bet $10 to win $80 total)
Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total)
John Mateer, Oklahoma: +1300 (bet $10 to win $140 total)
Carson Beck, Miami (FL): +1400 (bet $10 to win $150 total)
Cade Klubnik, Clemson: +1400 (bet $10 to win $150 total)
LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina: +1500 (bet $10 to win $160 total)
Arch Manning, Texas: +1600 (bet $10 to win $170 total)

Entering Saturday, Manning was atop the board at +650.

However, Manning finished Saturday’s loss at OSU going 17-of-30 passing for 170 yards, one touchdown and one interception. With that, he quickly dropped all the way to +1500.

He ended the night at +1600, seventh on the board.

Taking over as the new favorites, at +700, were LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier and Clemson QB Cade Klubnik — that was until LSU knocked off Clemson in a top-10 battle on Saturday night, 17-10.

In that game, Clubnik went 19-for-38 passing for 230 yards and one pick. Nussmeier completed 28 of 38 passes for 230 yards and a TD.

Now, Nussmeier sits alone atop the board, while Klubnik dropped to fifth.

Of the top seven players on the oddsboard, six of them are quarterbacks, probably because, over the last 12 years, nine of the winners have been QBs.

Last year’s winner, Travis Hunter, became the first two-way player since 1997 to win (Charles Woodson).
