Sharon Osbourne Places Iconic Los Angeles Estate on Market
Sharon Osbourne, 73, has listed the sprawling Los Angeles estate she shared with her late husband Ozzy Osbourne for $17 million. Following the rocker’s death eight months ago, she plans to downsize and divide her time between the family’s Buckinghamshire property in the UK and her Los Angeles apartment.
The couple acquired the 1920s Hancock Park home in 2015 for $11.85 million. They previously listed it for $18 million in 2022, later reducing the price to $17.5 million, before withdrawing it from the market amid plans for a full-time move to the UK.
Property Features and Renovations
Located five miles from downtown Los Angeles in the exclusive Hancock Park neighborhood, the main house spans approximately 10,200 square feet and includes a separate guesthouse. Highlights include a grand home cinema displaying signatures from celebrity guests, such as Elvis Presley, who inscribed the fireplace during its prior ownership by radio host Frank Bresee. Other standout elements feature a curved staircase, large chandelier, and ornate ceilings.
During their residency, Sharon and Ozzy renovated the property while preserving its early 20th-century character. Sharon updated the kitchen, deeming the original too modern, and modified the guesthouse along with the outdoor swimming pool.
Family Connections and Past Homes
Sharon’s daughter Kelly Osbourne recently disclosed that the family has submitted 10 bids to repurchase the Beverly Hills mansion where they filmed their MTV reality series The Osbournes. Kelly described it as “one of the best places we ever lived,” but current owners have declined to sell. The family resided there until 2007, when they sold it to Christina Aguilera, who owned it for four years before relisting it in 2011. The show, which aired from 2002 to 2005, was primarily set in that Hancock Park property.
Ozzy’s Passing and Sharon’s Future Plans
Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne died of heart failure on July 22 at age 76, two weeks after a farewell concert with bandmates at Birmingham’s Villa Park stadium. He is buried on the private grounds of Welders House, the Grade II-listed Buckinghamshire estate the couple bought in 1993.
While Ozzy rests in the UK, their children—Aimee, Jack, and Kelly—along with five grandchildren, have returned to Los Angeles. Sharon spent the Christmas holidays there and now intends to split her time evenly, spending at least half the year on the West Coast. Insiders suggest she may eventually base herself primarily in the US to stay close to her grandchildren, including Jack’s daughters Pearl, Andy Rose, Minnie Theodora, and Maple Artemis, and Kelly’s son Sidney.
Sharon maintains strong ties in Los Angeles from two decades there with Ozzy, including her role on ITV’s The X Factor alongside Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh. Ozzy, raised in Birmingham, always expressed a desire to return to England, prompting earlier listings of the LA home and extensive UK renovations at Welders House. These included a rehabilitation wing, nurse’s flat, health studio, art room, pool house orangery, high fencing for privacy, and upgraded CCTV.
The couple had planned a 2024 return documented in a 10-part reality series Home To Roost, but health issues delayed it until last summer for the Black Sabbath reunion.
