Skincare brand Dr Sam’s, renowned for its Flawless Cleanser and Flawless Neutralising Gel, launches the Flawless Brightly Pro Serum. This £64 innovation targets dark spots, post-acne marks, and pigmentation, offering a clinically proven solution that fades brown spots by up to 62% in eight weeks and 85% in 12 weeks.

Pigmentation: A Common Skin Issue

Pigmentation affects nearly half of adults. Sun exposure, visible light, pollution, hormonal changes, inflammation, acne, and heat all stimulate excess melanin production. Many brightening products address only one factor, leading to temporary results or rebound dark spots.

Targeting the Root Causes

Dermatologist Dr. Sam Bunting developed Flawless Brightly Pro over two years, testing 23 formulations. The serum tackles all nine biological pathways of pigment formation and eliminates “zombie cells”—senescent cells that cause recurring pigmentation even after spots fade.

Dr. Sam Bunting states: “I knew I had to create a solution for the millions of people who suffer with pigmentation. A product that could be used to tackle all nine biological pathways and, at the same time, help avoid the rebound phenomenon. Flawless Brightly Pro does just that. It’s a breakthrough, single serum that supports skin through each of the key stages of pigmentation development.”

“Rather than layering multiple treatments for each stage of pigmentation, people now have a simpler and more efficient approach to treating pigmentation with a single formula, which also has the added benefit of saving them both time and money.”

Key Ingredients and Benefits

The formula features 10% azelaic acid to soothe inflammation, reduce redness, and improve post-acne pigmentation without irritation. Niacinamide, arbutin, kojic dipalmitate, and hexylresorcinol regulate melanin and even out tone. Milk thistle extract supports collagen and targets sun damage and melasma, while bakuchiol promotes renewal with retinol-like benefits minus sensitivity.

Suitable for all skin tones, including deeper complexions, the serum is fragrance-free, non-comedogenic, pregnancy-safe, vegan, and cruelty-free—ideal for sensitive, acne-prone skin.

Usage and Comparisons

Apply in the morning under moisturizer, SPF, or makeup. Start every other day to build tolerance, then up to twice daily, without other actives. Competitors include Murad’s Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum (£83 for 30ml), which boosts cell turnover, and Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Brightening Dark Spot Serum (£52 for 30ml), claimed 62 times more effective than vitamin C.

Early User Feedback

Testers report impressive results. One user says: “The main difference I’ve noticed is a noticeable reduction in the patch of pigmentation on my forehead. It actually amazed me. Prior to starting the top secret serum I needed concealer on top of my foundation to cover that area but this week I haven’t.”

Another notes: “It’s really refreshing to use a product where I can see results without it affecting my sensitive skin. The texture is lovely and it absorbs into the skin really quickly – so handy when you’re in a rush in the morning.”

A third adds: “Lovely, absorbs quickly and easily and you don’t need to wait around much before applying moisturiser or in cream. It doesn’t irritate or dry the skin and I feel like my skin is smoother and brighter with using it.”

One more shares: “I’ve had great results on my neck and chest, with a real reduction in dark spots and a better complexion.”

No negative feedback emerges yet, though the price may deter some. Pair with moisturizer and sunscreen—or tinted SPF—for optimal results and prevention.

For stubborn pigmentation, Flawless Brightly Pro stands out as a potent, streamlined option this spring.
