Two fluffy tawny owl chicks huddled together on a tree branch while their mother stepped away briefly to hunt for food. Perched side by side high above the forest floor at a nature reserve in East Dorset, the young owlets remained calm and unfazed.
Dramatic Encounter Unfolds
The serene scene quickly intensified when a crow spotted the unguarded youngsters and swooped in aggressively. The bold bird attempted to peck at one vulnerable chick, creating a tense moment in the treetops.
Luckily, the crow abandoned its effort and flew off without success. The targeted owlet emerged unscathed, nestling safely next to its sibling as the brief threat passed.
