A 37-year-old resident of Brampton faces second-degree murder charges after a deadly shooting inside a local home on Friday evening.
Peel Regional Police responded to reports of gunfire around 5:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Dratford Road and Balmoral Drive, east of Bramalea Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 26-year-old man suffering from severe gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, the victim was declared deceased at the location.
Authorities arrested a suspect immediately at the scene. On Saturday, police named the individual as Christopher Beharry, a Brampton local. Officials confirmed the charge of second-degree murder against him.
