Urban explorers have ventured into the derelict mansion once owned by Bruce Forsyth, uncovering signs of eerie neglect at the luxury property in the Wentworth Estate.
The Late Entertainer’s Former Home
Bruce Forsyth, the iconic Strictly Come Dancing host known for shows like The Generation Game and Play Your Cards Right, passed away in 2017 at age 89 from bronchial pneumonia. His widow, Wilnelia, sold the multi-million-pound manor for £5.7 million in April 2020. The nine-bedroom estate, complete with a tennis court, 10-seater cinema room, library, gymnasium, swimming pool, spa area, and wine cellar, now stands empty and decaying.
Signs of Neglect Outside
Despite metal gates securing the entrance, explorers accessed the grounds and documented widespread deterioration. Moss and weeds cover the mansion’s exterior, while the once-luxurious tennis court is overgrown with foliage. The property neighbors homes of celebrities like Dame Judi Dench and Angelina Jolie on the exclusive estate. A small cottage remains tucked away in the gardens.
Frozen in Time Indoors
Inside, the home appears untouched, with original fittings, carpets, and furniture intact. The indoor pool stands in the worst state, filled with green, algae-choked water and a submerged safety barricade.
Police Response and Security Measures
Recent footage shared online drew thousands of views and sparked complaints from neighbors, leading to a police investigation. Surrey Police stated: “Surrey Police responded to a report of an incursion at a property in Virginia Water on Sunday, 11 January. Police enquiries were completed, and no further action has been taken.”
A private security team, costing £500 per day, now guards the property to prevent further unauthorized entries. Angered locals ed frustration, saying: “To see these lowlifes break in and film themselves inside for clicks and views on YouTube is just so heartless.”
Wilnelia has reportedly relocated to a smaller nearby property on the estate.
