Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder returns to the ring on April 4, taking on Derek Chisora at London’s O2 Arena. This matchup tops the inaugural Misfits Pro boxing event and streams live on DAZN.
Wilder’s Path to Redemption
Wilder enters with a record of 44-4-1, including 43 knockouts. He seeks a second straight victory following a challenging stretch from 2020 to 2024, where he posted a 1-4 mark after an undefeated start of 42-0-1. During that period, Wilder suffered back-to-back knockout losses to Tyson Fury, secured a knockout triumph over Robert Helenius, then dropped decisions to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang before knocking out Tyrrell Herndon in June.
At 40 years old, Wilder steps back into the United Kingdom for the first time in 12 years. His previous bout there came against Audley Harrison in 2013.
Chisora’s Resilient Comeback
Chisora, a former title challenger, holds a record of 36-13 with 23 knockouts. He has claimed three consecutive wins over Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce, and Otto Wallin since a knockout defeat to then-WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in 2022.
Now 42, Chisora has battled elite heavyweights across his career, including Oleksandr Usyk, Joseph Parker, Dillian Whyte, and Vitali Klitschko.
Although speculation once pointed to a Wilder-Usyk showdown, Wilder now leads Misfits Boxing’s debut professional event instead.
