Almost 20 years after clashing as a demanding high-fashion editor and her overwhelmed assistant, Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway showcased elevated style at the New York premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2. The stars arrived in designer gowns that outshone their outfits from the 2006 red carpet event for the original film.
Standout Red Carpet Fashion
Anne Hathaway, 43, who returns as Andy Sachs, stunned in a crimson strapless Louis Vuitton gown featuring a sculpted bodice, paired with Bulgari jewelry.
Meryl Streep, 76, reprising her role as the iconic Runway editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly, wore a striking red cape gown from Givenchy’s Fall 2026 collection. She completed the look with oversized sunglasses, echoing her character’s signature style.
Emily Blunt, 43, back as the sharp-tongued assistant Emily Charlton, opted for a sculptural Schiaparelli gown adorned with more than 300 hand-stitched pearls.
Stanley Tucci, 65, appeared sharp in a velvet Giorgio Armani suit.
From 2006 to Today: A Style Transformation
The current ensemble marked a significant upgrade from the 2006 premiere. Back then, Hathaway wore a simple red cowl-neck dress, Streep a white beaded cocktail dress, and Blunt a strappy purple gown with lace details.
The sequel draws from characters in Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling novel and hits theaters on May 1.
