Sean Dyche has dismissed rumors linking him to the Tottenham Hotspur managerial role as doubts grow over Igor Tudor’s future at the relegation-battling club.

Speculation surfaced this week suggesting Dyche could step in during the international break, marking a quick return to management after his February dismissal from Nottingham Forest following three months at the helm.

Dyche’s Humorous Denial

During an appearance on talkSPORT, host Jonny Owen quizzed Dyche on the Spurs links and social media buzz about sightings in London.

Dyche responded lightheartedly: “It’s brilliant, honestly. I was in a pub just the way near my place I’ve got down here and this guy goes, ‘Oh, you’re meant to be in talks with Spurs tonight’. I went, ‘Well I’m sat next to you having a pint of Guinness, so it’s unlikely! Unless you work for Spurs and they’re in the Seven Stars pub having a pint of Guinness, it’s highly unlikely’.”

“No I’m not, I’m with you mate and I’m on talkSPORT, that’s what I’m doing.”

Dyche acknowledged the challenges for unemployed managers facing such speculation. “It’s a tricky situation,” he explained. “When you’re a manager you know you’re going to get asked questions. You try to be respectful. Let’s use Tottenham as an example. Brilliant club, massive club. One of my first ever memories is Ricky Villa’s goal. You go, ‘Yeah, I’m flattered’. And they say, ‘He hasn’t said no, he wants it really’.”

Tottenham’s Fight for Survival

Tottenham hover one point above the Premier League relegation zone, without a league victory in 2026. Former manager Thomas Frank started strongly in north London but departed in February amid a steep decline.

Igor Tudor took over as interim until season’s end, yet has earned just one point from five matches, leaving Spurs desperate to secure their top-flight status.

The Croatian remains in charge for now, but the club faces a pivotal seven-game stretch and could make another change. Tudor recently attended his father Mario’s funeral in Croatia, with Tottenham expressing deep sadness over the loss and extending condolences to Igor and his family.
