Kimberly Scott, the 51-year-old ex-wife of rapper Eminem, appears disoriented in newly released bodycam footage from her DUI arrest in Michigan earlier this month.
Arrest Details
Chesterfield Police Department officers took Scott into custody on February 16. Court documents list charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to stop or identify after causing property damage.
Footage captures Scott, dressed in a tank top and blue jeans, speaking with officers outside a residence. She explained that a small blue car swerved into her lane, leaving her no option but to collide with a pickup truck on her right.
"I didn’t see the pickup truck, but I felt the impact and my car felt the impact," Scott told police.
Officers noted her vehicle had struck the garage door. Scott attributed distractions to screaming children in the car, who believed they were being followed. When asked about recent alcohol consumption, she initially denied it but later admitted, "An hour, two hours, maybe three hours ago."
A vehicle search uncovered alcohol. In another segment, wearing a hooded zip-up sweater, Scott performed a preliminary breath test before officers handcuffed her and notified her family.
Crash Sequence
The incident unfolded around 8 p.m. ET on February 16. Scott, a Warren, Michigan native, was driving her white Range Rover with teenage son Parker and three friends en route to shop. She struck a parked car on the street but continued home without stopping.
Upon arrival, she crashed into her closed garage door, damaging the door, passenger-side headlight, and bumper. A neighbor witnessed the second crash and alerted authorities.
Scott received hospital treatment for unspecified injuries and was discharged early the next morning.
Personal Background
Scott shares 30-year-old daughter Hailie Jade with Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers III. The couple married in 1999, divorced in 2001, remarried briefly in 2006, and split again that year.
She also has son Parker from another relationship. Eminem adopted her daughter Stevie Laine Scott, born in 2002 to Scott and Eric Hartter, who died in 2019. Eminem further adopted niece Alaina Marie Scott, 32, daughter of Scott’s late sister Dawn, who passed away in 2016 after struggling with addiction.
