Porter, who rose to prominence in the 1990s hosting popular shows like ‘Top of the Pops’ and ‘The Big Breakfast,’ detailed the accident in a social media post. She explained that she had been attending a performance of ‘@trainspottingthemusical’ to support friends when she was unexpectedly bumped by another passenger on the station stairs.
“My scars are superficial and it’s not a problem. It was an accident and it won’t stop me being me,” Porter stated, downplaying the severity of her visible injuries. She used the incident as an opportunity to address online critics who had commented negatively on her appearance, with some suggesting she looked “old” or that something was “wrong with my face.”

Addressing those she referred to as “keyboard warriors,” Porter made a heartfelt plea for empathy and respect. “Please… from the bottom of my heart.. don’t ever be disrespectful to anyone for how they look or how they are.
