Presenter Ranvir Singh interrupted Friday’s episode of Good Morning Britain just minutes in to deliver devastating news about a series of shootings in the Canadian Rockies town of Tumbler Ridge.
Tragic Details Emerge
All eight victims from the two separate incidents—at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School and a nearby home—have now been publicly identified. The attacks occurred earlier this week, shocking the small community.
School Victims
Authorities confirmed the deaths of a 39-year-old female teacher and five students at the school: three 12-year-old girls and two boys aged 12 and 13.
Home Victims and Shooter
At the residence shared with 18-year-old shooter Jesse Van Rootselaar, his mother and stepbrother were also found dead.
Victims’ Names Released
The identified victims include Kylie Smith, Abel Mwansa, Zoey Benoit, Shannda Aviugana-Durand, Ticaria Lampert, Ezekiel Schofield, Jennifer Jacobs, and Emmett Jacobs.
Two children sustained severe injuries during the attacks and remain under medical care.
