UK consumers rapidly adopt Freely-enabled televisions, with Hisense announcing sales surpassing one million units. Launched less than two years ago, Freely emerges as the nation’s fastest-growing TV platform, drawing attention from traditional providers.

What is Freely and Why the Popularity?

Freely integrates into various smart TVs, delivering over 60 live channels via broadband internet—no aerial required. Users access a comprehensive TV guide, personalized recommendations, and pause functions for live broadcasts. On-demand shows and movies stream freely without subscriptions.

Hisense confirms this milestone highlights shifting viewer preferences toward cost-free, high-quality entertainment. “Our partnership with Freely drives the evolution of our product range to meet modern consumer demands,” states Howard Grindrod, Vice President at Hisense UK. “Freely provides a leading solution, and reaching one million sales marks a proud achievement.”

Expanding Options and Future Growth

Beyond Hisense, multiple manufacturers offer Freely-compatible TVs, alongside set-top boxes for existing screens. Channel lineups expand this year, boosting appeal.

“Freely thrives on collaboration between broadcasters and manufacturers, offering viewers true choice,” says Jonathan Thompson, CEO at Everyone TV. “Hisense’s focus on affordable, quality TVs resonates widely. Viewer growth accelerates as more discover seamless access to premium content. With major events like every World Cup match streaming live, partnerships ensure enhanced experiences across the UK.”
