Pop star JADE has joined forces with Lily Allen for a fresh remix of the track Beg For Me, taken from Allen’s critically acclaimed comeback album West End Girl. The former Little Mix member contributed a new verse ahead of Allen’s headline performance at the Mighty Hoopla festival this weekend, delivering lyrics that take direct aim at an ungrateful partner.
“His fragile ego ain’t worth your tears,” JADE sings in the remix. “If we’re being honest, it’s / Better to find out than to find out in a few years / ‘Cause we don’t judge, men need their toys / But no buttplug’s gonna fill the void.”
These lines echo a moment from Allen’s own track Pussy Palace, also featured on West End Girl, where she recounts discovering a stash of sex toys and condoms at her ex’s apartment in New York’s West Village.
Album Inspired by Personal Turmoil
Upon its release, West End Girl was widely interpreted as a reflection on Allen’s marriage to and eventual divorce from Stranger Things star David Harbour. The couple first connected in 2019 through the dating app Raya, married in a Las Vegas ceremony in September 2020, and moved into a Brooklyn townhouse together with Allen’s two daughters from a previous relationship. They separated in early 2025, and Allen filed for divorce later that year.
The album garnered widespread critical acclaim and sparked global discussions about marriage, infidelity, and non-monogamy. One review described it as a “brutal, tell-all masterpiece” and Allen’s strongest work in 16 years, calling it “an incisive diary of a marriage in freefall.”
Mighty Hoopla Headline Performance
Allen is set to headline the Saturday lineup at Mighty Hoopla this weekend. Other acts on the bill include Jessie J, Appleton, JLS, Scissor Sisters, pop band Five, and JADE’s former Little Mix bandmate Perrie.
